Reinforcement of an 𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲/𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿/𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 behavior has been proven to be effective in preventing the negative behavior altogether. It's a principle that is an essential piece to the "good behavior" puzzle. It may not solve the problem entirely, but it will get you headed in the right direction.
